blue lace flower

my sister, jenny, has inspired me to do a series of blog entries on blue flowers.
this little bunch of trachymene coerulea, or didsicus coeruleus, or blue lace flower is in a small sized ball jar.
the flowers are a little larger than 1 1/2" diameter.
i think they are simply exquisite.

this is the first time i'd seen them for real.  the seeds were very easy to germinate and care for.
the plants are about 3 1/2' tall and are tidy and have looked lovely at every stage of their growth.  so happy with this experiment!

they will last almost 2 weeks in a vase.
