merry christmas!

this is a montage of flowers from this past summer.
each one was lifted from a photo, and, using photoshop, positioned on a photograph i'd taken of a slate shingle.
  perhaps you recognize some of them....
you can click on the picture to make it larger.
i't would be fun to make a flower at a time in its place,
but that is a project for next year!

seed pod wreath

another wreath from the spare bounty of the winter - making me very happy to go out and forage!
this is a small wreath on a bittersweet vine base measuring about 8" in diameter.
rose campion seed pods are the little bleached ones, and i bleached the nigella pods also.
then for contrast, i used the tulip-shaped siberian iris pods around the outside edge.

dried wild rose hip wreath

another rose hip wreath made from hips gathered from the wild roses that bloom in the thicket.
i made the bittersweet vine base and enjoyed allowing the stray wild bits to do their thing. 

 yes, they are withered, but that is what they do.

 here is a wreath made from four types of grasses.
it measures about twelve inches in diameter.
