dried poppy seed pods

my mom collected these for me so i could make them into a wreath or something.
they've been sitting on my windowsill and i keep looking at them
and enjoying them so much just as they are in this glass.
the flowers had fluffy bed-head pink petals.
do you think of wood carvings?

i think there's a whole world in each one.

windowsill magic

while my son is outside on the tractor moving piles of snow,
i am happy to be holding these little harbingers of another season with their happy faces and sweet scent.
i want to share with you the beauty of the frost on the window too.
 with wire vine.
i started the seeds last fall, and have already cut them back twice.
these are from swallowtail seeds and are a mix of both violas and pansies.
